Toronto

Our accommodation in Toronto was a lovely friendly hotel in the middle if Chinatown. It felt like being in Hong Kong. Three floors up, with ceiling to floor windows over looking the street below. Sleep was needed to catch up after Chicago. After a few hours we started walking around Toronto, to see what we could find. Toronto is much messier, dirtier and has more graffiti than Chicago.Found the Art & Design College - box with crayon legs - building.
Went up CN Tower for an overview. Glass lift with a glass floor, went up the side of the tower - very scary for Del. Good views of Toronto but not as dynamic a city as Chicago. I had to coax Del onto the huge glass floor in the lookout which had 86 floors of nothing below - she didn‘t want to look down and wouldn‘t let go of me. Wouldn’t have been much benefit if the floor had collapsed!
Caught a streetcar to Kensington Markets. Like a cross between Fremantle and Bali. We had a delicious dinner of Greek dips and salad in an outside cafĂ© and watched the locals and time passing. Opposite was an interesting “reclaimed car” - an abandoned car parked by the curb, which was filled with soil and allowed to regenerate into a substantial garden.
